- What should I try before I bring it in?
- If the phone got wet, don't plug it in. Follow our water damage steps and bring it in. If it didn't get wet, plug it into a charger and cable you know work and leave it for a while. Then try a force restart. On an iPhone 8 or newer, press and release volume up, press and release volume down, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears. On a Samsung Galaxy, hold the side key and volume down together until it restarts. If it gets hot, swells or smells like burning, unplug it and don't charge it again.
