Signs your iPhone 13 screen needs replacing

What to know about the iPhone 13
- Make sure it's an iPhone 13, not a 13 Pro or mini
- The iPhone 13 mini (5.4-inch), iPhone 13 (6.1-inch), 13 Pro (6.1-inch with ProMotion), and 13 Pro Max (6.7-inch) each take their own screen. Settings > General > About > Model Name tells you which one you have. From the back, the iPhone 13 has two cameras and the Pro models have three.

- Once the new screen is on, look at True Tone under Settings > Display & Brightness and tap in every corner, including along the line where the old crack was.

Back up first if the phone still works: Settings > your name > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now, on Wi-Fi. A computer backup works too.
Have your passcode ready. You'll want it to unlock and check the phone once the new screen is on.
Note what worked before the damage: Face ID, True Tone, the front camera, and touch in every corner. It helps separate old problems from new ones.
If the screen is too broken to back up, tell us. A screen replacement doesn't normally require erasing the phone.
